When I was contacted by Beanfields Snacks to see if I wanted to review their chips I was delighted. I love it when I see this little symbol on a package and even more so when it is a family owned company! I love to support family owned companies that are standing up for what they believe in and are not giving in to the large corporations to better their bottom line at our expense.
With that said let me tell you a little bit about Beanfields. They take wholesome and nutritious Non-GMO beans and blend them with long grain rice to create delicious snacks that are loaded with fiber and protein, and who couldn’t use extra fiber? In fact Beanfields Bean & Rice chips contain double the fiber and protein of most corn tortilla or potato chips. So you don’t have to feel quite so guilty while you have the muchies.
Beanfields Snacks are farmed and made in the USA. They are gluten-free, cholesterol-free, trans fat-free, preservative-free and free of every one of the FDA’s eight most common ingredients that trigger food allergies! Again another huge BONUS!
We received a huge variety of flavors, not just plain ole chips: Pico Di Gallo, Salt and Pepper, Cheese, Sea Salt and Unsalted. Of course my kids first selected the Cheese to try. You know when you can’t have something it looks so desirable? Well my kids had some Doritos one day at their Aunt’s house and loved them! They know that they can’t have them with me and always point out the bags at the store if they see them. I was so pleased that they loved the cheese flavor! They are delicious and don’t have artificial coloring and all the other nasty things found in the other chips. Do they look different? Well of course, they aren’t processed with fillers and all the artificial ingredients. They are made from wholesome ingredients, beans ans rice (which we had for dinner tonight).
In a nutshell we truly enjoyed each flavor we tried. The unsalted were even delicious with some homemade humus! They have a perfect crunch to them and an awesome combination of flavor with out the unneeded extras. I feel good about eating them but more importantly, I feel good about my children eating them!
