Being that we are in the stone fruit season, we have been eating plums and peaches like crazy. When we have ripe peaches or plums in the house, they don’t last long. I have been on the hunt for a few simple plum recipes to add to our collection. If you happen to have a few ripe plums or even peaches in your house, this is a super simple recipe that is so delicious!
Plum Crumble Recipe
- 1 Cup of Sliced Almonds
- 4 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter, Cubed
- 20-25 Vanilla Wafers
- 1 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 Teaspoon of Ground Nutmeg
- 2 Tablespoons of Organic Sugar or Sucanat
- 5-6 Sliced and Chopped Plums or Peaches
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. If you have little helpers, let them have fun using their hands to mash your almonds, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, sweetener and wafers together until they are coarsely combined.
Chop your plums into small pieces and then arrange your plums in a pie dish or other 8-9″ dish.
Top with your almond mixture, scattering it evenly with your hands.
Cover the top with foil for approximately 30 minutes and then remove and continue to bake for another 15-20 minutes. Bake until the fruit is tender and juicy and the crumb topping is golden brown, which is about a total of 45-50 minutes.
Top with homemade whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream (or two) and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
