8 Ways to Save on Organics Series: Part 6-Online Deals

A great resource to save on organic food and other household items is to purchase them online.  It is amazing how many great resources there are for organic purchases right from your home.  Again, just as if you were shopping instore you have to take advantage of when sales are offered and free shipping offers.  Here are a few of my favorites to shop at:

Amazon-They run specials very frequently on organic food items.  Many items offer free shipping if you sign up for their subscribe and save option.  This sets your order up to automatic shipments but you can cancel this as soon as your first order ships.  I love to cash in my Swagbucks for Amazon credits to get free organic items.

Vitacost-They are a huge supplier of online supplements, organic grocery items, gluten free grocery items and health and beauty products.  Over 30,000 items I believe.  They always offer free shipping on orders over $49.00.  I have ordered oils, baking extracts, mayo and lots of personal care and household items from them for a great deal!  They also offer new members a $10.00 credit to use on their first order.  Once you sign up, you can even refer friends and with their first purchase you will both receive a $10.00 credit.

Tropical Traditions-They are everything coconut!  Yes, they sell organic coconut products that are terrific but so many other items.  They offer organic seasonal produce, organic and greass fed meats, many personal care products (all organic), even seasonings and baking items.  The shipping is a little high but they frequently offer free shipping.  They always offer sales on several items that changes weekly.   They also offer an awesome referral program, once you make your first purchase, you can refer family and friends and receive a $25.00 credit when they make their first purchase.  I have been extremly pleased with the quality of everything I have purchased from Tropical Traditions.

Abe’s Market-They offer a wide variety of food products from organic chocolate to coffee to ketchup.  With a huge selection of kitchen gadgets, clothing accessories and baby products they have something for everyone.  I also have been very please with my orders, prices and service received from Abe’s Market.  The prices are about what you would pay instore but when you can use discount codes and get free shipping you can turn it into a great deal!

Daily Deal Sites-There are so many daily deal sites out there now.  I have purchased something from many of them but it can become easy to get carried away.  If I can save 50% off on organic food items, that I would be purchasing to begin with; I’m game!  In the past I have gotten a $20.00 Whole Foods gift card for $10.00 from Living Social; a $30.00 Vitacost voucher for $15.00 from Plum District & a $50.00 Abe’s Market voucher for only $25.00 from Plum District also.  These type of deals usually don’t last long, but when they are offered I purchase them.  I then use them to purchase items that I know don’t offer high value coupons or rarely go on sale.

Ebates-I use Ebates when I am shopping online to score a small amount of cashback.  If I am going to make the purchase and they will pay me a small percent, even 2-3% hey, I don’t mind clicking through their link.  If you don’t already use Ebates, you receive a $5.00 sign-up credit for making your first $25.00 purchase.  I don’t receive much (afterall I try not to spend much) but my check that I am due to receive this quarter was right at $9.00 for things I was going to buy anyway.

There are many other great resources out there, but these are my favorites that I frequent most often.  I try to post as many of the great deals I find online here.  I live way out in the country so I find shopping online when sales are offered is a huge savings to me!  Why spend my gas when I can pick up the package at the post office?
